Center
Ozarks
Medical Center has been designated as a community training
center (CTC) by the American Heart Association to provide
basic life support classes to the community.
Classes
offered include:
Heartsaver CPR, CPR for Family and Friends, and CPR in
Schools.

Prenatal Classes
Prepared
childbirth classes help expectant mothers prepare for
the birth of their child. Topics include breathing, relaxation,
support, labor and delivery and cesarean section; new
parent skills classes, including self-care, baby care,
infant bathing, safety, immunizations and circumcision.
Preparing for breastfeeding classes provide the expectant
mother with important information she will need to breastfeed
her new baby.

First
Aid
This
is a four-hour course designed by the American Heart Association.
Basic First Aid emphasizes accident prevention and prepares
participants to provide temporary assistance until medical
help arrives.
Group
classes also are available for your business, organization
or social group.

Diabetes
Education "Living with Diabetes Classes"
This
class provides information about Diabetes Mellitus and
offers tools for managing this disorder. Healthcare professionals
will encourage and empower participants toward making
choices which result in an improved quality of life. This
class is open to anyone wanting to learn about diabetes
management.
Classes
are held at 8 a.m. the third Monday of each month in the
Parkway Center Classroom. To register, please call 417-257-5901.

First Responder
This
course is designed to teach advanced first-aid skills
and knowledge to enable the First Responder to stabilize
the sick or injured until an ambulance arrives.
Group
classes also are available for your business, organization
or social group.
A
BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor update class is scheduled
for 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Parkway Classroom.

Life
After Loss
A
free, four-part series hosted by Riverways Hospice of
Ozarks Medical Center to help people deal with the death
of a loved one. Topics to be covered include the normal
physical and emotional responses to grief, understanding
the phases of the grief process, your emotions and how
to deal with them, practical strategies for how to deal
with life day-by-day, and living in the present and building
for the future.
Pre-registration
is encouraged because class size is limited. For
