    Physician Bio

    Dr. Benjamin Yan has accomplished a significant achievement in clinical oncology and contribution to cancer research since he graduated from medical school in 1998. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Yan completed a PhD in Pathology and Cancer Biology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Yan's many achievements include identifying a tumor suppressor gene, DFF. This discovery was presented in annual conferences of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). The significance of his research was also reported by medias including TV, radiostations, newspapers and a number of major websites. During his residency in University of Mississippi and postdoctoral fellowship in radiation oncology at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Yan has published over 20 publications in top peer reviewed medical journals and received a number of prestigious award/honors including AACR scholar-in-training award and ASCO Merit Award. Currently Dr. Yan is the medical director of radiation oncology at Ozarks Medical Center in Missouri. He was selected as a top oncologist by International Association of Oncologist in 2014. Dr. Yan is specialized in treating cancers with radiaotherapy. He is experienced with 3D conventional radiotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, stereotactic radiosugery (SBRT and SRS), HDR (T&O, cylinder for Gyn cancers and accelerated partial breast irradiation), LDR (prostate brachytherapy seed implant), thyroid I-131 and SIR sphere.
