Ozarks Medical Center welcomes Licensed Physical Therapist and Athletic
Trainer Josh Drummond as the Manager of Rehabilitation Services. Drummond,
a West Plains native, will provide leadership for the OMC service, which
offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology
in the hospital, clinic, school and home care settings.
"We are so happy to welcome Josh to the administrative team at OMC
Rehabilitation Services," said Pam Ream, OMC Director of Rehabilitation
Services. I feel Josh's experience and leadership skills will be a
great benefit to our program, which encompasses more than 47 therapists
and five support staff providing services in more than 22 locations, as
well as home health."
Drummond graduated from West Plains High School and completed a Bachelor's
Degree in athletic training from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Washington University
in St. Louis.
He previously worked in athletic training with high school and college
students and in the rehabilitation setting. He has also provided physical
therapy services to outpatient and home health patients and worked in
marketing and leadership associated with those positions.
Drummond said he is looking forward to moving into a new phase of his career
"I love my profession and am excited to move into a role of supporting
the clinicians who provide such important services," Drummond said.
"I have already learned that there are wonderful people in this department
and in this organization who I am excited to get to know better. I am
learning new aspects of what makes it possible to provide excellent care
and am enjoying being a part of that side of the field. I hope to grow
as a professional and assist practitioners in providing the best care
possible. I look forward to being part of the continued growth of a successful
department in an extremely successful and vitally important organization."
Drummond is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Licensed Physical Therapist,
is Functional Movement Screen Certified, and LSVT BIG Certified, which
is a program that utilizes intensive training of motion to help correct
the movement deficits in those with Parkinson's disease.
He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the
American Physical Therapy Association. Locally, Drummond serves on the
board for the West Plains Christian Clinic, the Missouri State University
– West Plains Grizzly Athletics Boosters Board, and is an officer
of the West Plains Sunrise Rotary.
Drummond and his wife, Kristi, have two children, Sophie, 4, and Brooks,
2. Kristi is a part-time nurse for a local school district. In his free
time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and hunting.
OMC Rehabilitation Services also offers physical and occupational therapy
and speech-language pathology to inpatients at Ozarks Medical Center and
at area clinics, schools, and work places, as well as through Riverways
