Animal Clinic of West Plains supports OMC Blue Jean Ball

Animal Clinic of West Plains is the sponsor of Team Ghost Rider for OMC’s Blue Jean Ball. Team Ghost Rider brings an action-packed performance that combines the jungle and the rodeo arena with three of the best sheep dog riding monkeys in the business. These little wonders work together with Tim ‘Wild Thang’ Lepard as they show off their special cowboy skills. The Blue Jean Ball is the OMC Foundation’s signature event to raise funds for programs and services that support the delivery of local health care.

Team Ghost Rider’s Tim ‘Wild Thang’ Lepard has been involved with rodeo for over 35 years. He began his career riding bulls which evolved into bull fighting. He has been a member of the PRCA since 2004. In 1988, Tim was crowned the Mesquite Champion Bullfighter. While fighting bulls at Mesquite, mentor, Jimmy Anderson told him, “You can go to a rodeo and find twenty macho guys that think they're bullfighters, but you're only going to find one funny man and that's you.”

After nine major surgeries incurred due to fighting bulls, Tim began putting together the dog and monkey act that concentrated on comedy. An act with 3 dogs and 3 monkeys evolved into Team Ghost Riders. Working with and training animals involves a lot of hard work. Traveling across the United States with the animals requires even more dedication and responsibility. Tim says the animals are like a family and require round the clock care to ensure their well-being. “Just seeing the crowd smiling and hearing their laughter makes it all worthwhile,” he added.

Tim has performed at the International Finals Rodeo, has been a 3-time winner for “Comedy Act of the Year,” 3-time winner “Dress Act of the Year,” and has won “Barrel Man of the Year.” He has been featured on America's Funniest Home Videos, FHM Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and had a scheduled appearances on the Jay Leno Show and Steve Harvey’s “Big Show.”

Tickets for the event are $50 and may be purchased at the OMC Foundation at No. 12 Parkway Center. The admission ticket includes food, drinks and entertainment. Sponsorships, which include benefits such as reserved seating in the “Sheriff’s Tent,” are also available. For more information on tickets or sponsorships contact the OMC Foundation at 417-853-5200.
