Missouri Health Insurance Marketplace Opens Nov. 1 for Enrollment

Cover Missouri Coalition offers In-Person Help for Uninsured Missourians during Launch Week Events

November 1 marks the launch of the third open enrollment period of the Missouri Health Insurance Marketplace, where uninsured Missourians can access quality, affordable health coverage options. To help prepare and encourage consumers to enroll, the Cover Missouri Coalition is working across south central Missouri and statewide to host several launch week education and enrollment events.

Through launch week activities in south central Missouri consumers can learn more about using the Missouri Marketplace, get in-person help enrolling and learn about cost-sharing reductions and tax credits that can lower their health insurance costs.

The Cover Missouri Coalition is hoping to reach even more uninsured Missourians in the third open enrollment in the Marketplace and is encouraging consumers to re-enroll in quality health coverage.

“Last year, nearly 254,000 Missourians – roughly 40 percent of Missouri’s potential Marketplace population – enrolled in Marketplace plans, which tells us that there is an opportunity for more to enroll,” said Dewayne Cook, Consumer Assistance Counselor at Ozarks Medical Center.

In south central Missouri, Cover Missouri members are hosting the following launch week education and enrollment events:

  • Tuesday, November 3, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Oregon County Library, 121 North 2nd Street, Thayer
  • Monday, November 9, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., OMC Shannon County Medical Clinic, 1008 N. Hwy 19, Winona
  • Thursday, November 19, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Ozark County Health Department, 304 3rd Street, Gainesville
  • Wednesday, November 25, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., OMC Mountain Grove Medical Complex, 500 E. 19th Street, Mountain Grove

If you are unable to attend one of these events, you can call 1-888-257-8389 to reach a local enrollment counselor at Ozarks Medical Center. Additional event listings can be found at covermissouri.org.

“We encourage all Missourians to take advantage of launch week activities in south central Missouri to get the tools they need to understand their options in the Marketplace and make informed choices about their coverage,” Cook said. “This is an opportunity to get ahead of planning for next year’s health coverage, and we will have Certified Application ready to help consumers find their best plan option, free of charge.”
