OMC Rehabilitation Services recognizes Physical Therapy Month
Ozarks Medical Center Rehabilitation Services is celebrating National Physical
Therapy Month in October. Physical therapists are health care professionals
who treat patients of all ages, from newborn to the very oldest, who have
medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities
to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Countless
conditions are treatable with physical therapy, including common ailments
such as back and neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries and other conditions
from trauma, overuse or age. Physical therapists also work with people
to help to prevent health problems and improve physical function.
“Physical therapy can significantly improve a patient’s mobility
to perform daily activities, and in some cases, can even provide an alternative
to painful and expensive surgery as well as manage or eliminate pain without
medication,” said Pam Ream, Director of OMC Rehabilitation Services.
“We are proud of our compassionate and professional team who are
dedicated to putting our patients on the path to recovery.”
OMC Rehabilitation Services team includes licensed physical therapists
and physical therapy assistants who work with patients in the hospital,
clinics, home health and schools.
“Our therapists provide an individual treatment plan for each patient
based on their needs and goals. They also do a great deal to educate patients
about their injury or impairments so that the patient can properly perform
exercises on their own as part of the healing process,” Ream said.
OMC Rehabilitation Services also offers occupational therapy and speech-language
pathology to inpatients at Ozarks Medical Center and at area clinics,
schools, and work places, as well as through Riverways Home Health of
OMC. For more information about OMC Rehabilitation Services or physical
