Donation to OMC Riverways Hospice Received on Anniversary of Mom’s Death
Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Riverways Hospice received a $10,000 donation
recently from Don Minge of South Carolina. Minge, a former resident of
West Plains, made the donation in honor of his mother, Lena Minge. Mrs.
Minge died in 1997. The donation came on the 19th anniversary of her death.
“My mother lost her battle with cancer on April 4, 1997. The months
prior to her passing were obviously extremely difficult for her and our
family. OMC Riverways Hospice was there to provide the needed care, support,
and compassion for us through this painful transition between life and
end of life for our loved one. It requires very special and gifted people
to perform these valuable services day in and day out – they must
be professional, caring, compassionate, hardworking and selfless. It is
said that Angels walk among us and touch our lives during difficult times…so
it was with OMC Riverways Hospice. I am so grateful and blessed that you
were there for my mother and our family,” said Minge.
“It is so very meaningful to receive a donation from family members
who want to recognize the care that their loved one received. We appreciate
Joe’s kind words about our staff and it is good to know that the
care that was given nineteen years ago is still appreciated,” said
Holly Isom, OMC Riverways Home Care Manager.
Riverways Hospice is part of Ozarks Medical Center’s Home Care Services
which include hospice, home health, and support services serving the seven
county region for more than 40 years.
