Isaac Harrison, son of Dustin and Mandy Harrison of West Plains, may only be 11 years old, but he already knows how to entertain a crowd and run a business. With his love of music and his admiration of his cousin, Will Cropper (DJ Will, a DJ in Springfield), Isaac asked for DJ equipment for his 10th Birthday. He got a mixer, laptop and speakers. After a paying gig with his cousin, he bought lighting with that first paycheck.

“I love music, and after seeing Will in action, I wanted to be a DJ, too and have that experience on my own,” Isaac said.

In just over a year, Isaac has played about 20 gigs, mostly birthday parties in West Plains, Thayer and Alton. His dad takes care of the driving and helps with the set-up. Little brother Easton gets in on the action, too. “He’s our roadie,” Dustin jokes. “But seriously, I love this time that we all get to spend together. What could be better that watching your son do something that he loves and getting to be a part of it, too,” Dustin said.

Isaac is a 5th grader at Fairview School. His mom says he does well in school and also is involved in basketball and baseball. Isaac also plays the drums and frequently has jam sessions with friends in his basement.

DJ IMH will be entertaining all the superheroes at this year’s Ozarks Medical Center Superhero Fun Run on Saturday, April 22. Isaac will be part of the Race Day Village that includes a 1.5 mile walk/run, a 5K, a 10K, a dog show and costume contest, concession stand, and vendor booths. OMC’s Superman will be there making balloon animals for the kids.

“This fundraising event is in its 27th year,” said Melissa Smith, OMC Media Relations Specialist and Chair of the event. “We invite everyone to come out that day and enjoy the Race Day Village, even if you aren’t participating in an event.”

Registration is open for the 1.5 mile, 5K and 10k, and is available online at https://raceroster.com/events/2017/10961/ozarks-medical-center-superhero-fun-run-2017.
