Dr. Magdy Giurgius, a board-certified surgeon at Ozarks Medical Center who specializes in general surgery, wound care, balloon weight loss surgery, and bariatric surgery was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
The ACS is an association of surgeons that promotes high standards for surgical education and practice. Dr. Giurgius was among over 1800 fellows initiated at this year’s Convocation Ceremony on October 22 in San Diego, California.
Becoming a Fellow, designated as FACS after a surgeon’s name, means that a surgeon’s “education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by [the ACS],” according to the ACS.
