Cancer Fundraising in Howell County gets a remodel

A local cancer fundraising committee has decided to try a different approach this year to raise funds. Frustrated with the lack of participation and sponsorship from fundraising efforts in recent years, the group approached the Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Foundation about working with them directly to ensure that proceeds would benefit local cancer patients.

A Gatsby 20’s themed gala event will be held Saturday, October 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the West Plains Civic Center Expo Hall. The event will feature dinner, guest speakers, and entertainment. All proceeds from the event will go to the OMC Cancer Treatment Center Patient Assistance Fund. Twenties costume dress is optional, and prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

Table sponsorships will be available in several levels, as well as single seat event ticket purchases for $25. A portion of the table sponsorship donations will be considered tax deductible.

Committee members include: Danielle Cozort, Kathy Delgado, Richard Delgado, Wanda Frazier, Eric Gibson (Committee Chair,) Susie Kenslow, Jason Rieck, Andrea Russell, Carol Silvey, and Amy Jo Wright.

For more information about the gala, to become a sponsor, or to purchase single tickets, contact the OMC Foundation at 417-853-5200 or email omcozca@gmail.com.
