OMC Pediatric and Family Medicine Clinics Ribbon Cutting and Open House Draws a Crowd in West Plains

WEST PLAINS, Mo - Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Pediatrics and Family Medicine held a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at 312 N. Kentucky Avenue. The West Plains Chamber of Commerce performed the ribbon cutting ceremony, the 1138th Color Guard presented the flags, and the Zizzer High School Jazz Band performed. Addressing the crowd were Jack Pahlman, Mayor of West Plains; Kevin Gleghorn, Chair, OMC Board of Directors; Tom Keller, OMC President and CEO; Dr. Ashish Risal, OMC Pediatrics; and Dr. Jen Lambert, OMC Family Medicine. Clinic tours and refreshments were offered after the ceremony.

The newly remodeled clinics are located adjacent to one another at 312 N. Kentucky Avenue, West Plains. The OMC Pediatric clinic remodel includes different child-themed murals painted by local artists, with matching themed exam tables, in each of its exam rooms. OMC Pediatrics has put an emphasis on making the clinic environment focused on the child and making it a fun place to go to the doctor.

About 300 people attended the free open house with numerous kids’ activities including pony rides, face-painting, bounce house, a photo booth and much more. Kids visited with firemen and a fire truck from the West Plains Fire Department, as well as pilots from AirMedCare. Door prizes included a girls and boys bike, gift basket and Walmart gift care for the adults. Kid-friendly refreshments were served courtesy of OMC.

“We were so pleased to host so many members of the community,” said Pam Ream, Vice President, Ozarks Medical Center Medical Group. “The attendance and support of local businesses, civic leaders, co-workers and citizens, affirms the strong relationships OMC has with the community.”
