3rd Annual OMC Dice Run of the Mills Scheduled for June 8
Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) will hold its Third Annual OMC Dice Run of
the Mills on Saturday, June 8. This year the fundraiser will raise money
for the OMC Capital Campaign for the new Women’s Center.
The Dice Run is open to motorcycles and vehicles of all types. Cost to
enter is $20 per vehicle and includes a Dice Run Swag Bag. Riders can
begin the route any time after registration, which will be from 9:00 to
10:30 a.m. at OMC Parkway Center, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains.
To participate in the dice game, dice scoring cards can be purchased for
$5 each, with no limit on how many cards one can play. T-shirts will be
available for purchase at both registration and the Lot Party.
The public is invited to attend the Lot Party at Great Rivers Distributing,
located on Highway 63 in Pomona, even if they are not participating in
the Dice Run. The Lot Party will open at 3:00 p.m. with concessions, a
cash bar, and vendor booths. The band Fender Bender will begin at 3:00
p.m. and will play throughout the afternoon. Dice Run Awards will be announced
at 5:00 p.m.
“We are changing the route this year and going East,” said
Melissa Smith, organizer of the event. “The Dice Run is a fun day
whether you are on a motorcycle or in a car or truck. What better way
to raise money for a wonderful cause than to have a little fun while doing
it.” The Dice Run is a 135-mile ride that will have stops at OMC
Alton, OMC Winona, Alley Spring Park Pavilion (Eminence), Stop’n
Spot (Summersville), Milo and Jack’s (Willow Springs), and then
end at a Lot Party at Great Rivers Distributing (Pomona).
For those unfamiliar with the rules of a dice run, five dice will be rolled
at each of the six Dice Roll Stops. The player’s score will be recorded
on their dice scoring card. A prize will be awarded to the winner of each
stop for highest roll (at OMC Alton, Alley Spring Park Pavilion, and Milo
and Jack’s) and lowest roll (at OMC Winona, Stop ‘n Spot,
and Great Rivers Distributing).
The grand prize of $100 will be awarded to the participant who has the
highest overall dice roll score after all six rolls. Consolation prizes
will be awarded for lowest overall score, oldest motorcycle driver or
passenger, and for the person who traveled the furthest to compete.
Several sponsorship levels and booth space at the Lot Party are available
for this event.
