OMC Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Vintage Car Cruise

WEST PLAINS, Mo – Cruising and cookies were part of the Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) 60th Anniversary celebration on Friday, March 1.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of OMC in the community, Tom Keller, CEO and President, cruised around West Plains in a vintage 1959 Ford Wagon, with OMC Board Vice Chair, Bill Wood. Together they visited numerous public service agencies and schools to express OMC’s appreciation for 60 years of support from the community.

The commemorative cruise began at the North Parkway Ribbon Cutting and followed a route throughout West Plains that included South Howell County Ambulance, West Plains Schools, Howell County Sheriff’s Office, West Plains City Hall and West Plains Police Department.

True to its original mission, “to provide exceptional compassionate care to all we serve,” OMC is a community owned not-for-profit medical center run by a local board of directors with over 1,300 employees, serving an 8-county area in south central Missouri and north central Arkansas.

Ozarks Medical Center is comprised of eight primary care and 16 specialty clinics, along with complete rehabilitation, behavioral healthcare and home care services. While the 114-bed acute care hospital cares for more than 5,400 admissions, the entire medical system has more than 364,000 patient visits annually.
