OMC Celebrates Historic Groundbreaking in West Plains
WEST PLAINS, Mo – Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) administrators, board
members, leaders, employees, local and state government officials and
area residents celebrated the groundbreaking for the hospital expansion Tuesday.
Prior to the groundbreaking ceremony, entertainment was provided by the
West Plains Zizzer Jazz Band and members of the marching band’s
flag corps, while a helicopter flyover was provided by Air Medical Group Holdings.
The ceremony itself began with the Presentation of Colors by the local
1142nd Company Color Guard and a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner”
by the jazz band.
Chaplain Michael Parrott gave the invocation, asking for the continued
success of the project and expressing gratitude for the progress OMC has
made in its 60 year history and as a provider of medical care to area
Brief speeches were given by OMC Board of Directors Chairman Bill Wood
and OMC Medical Group Vice President Pam Ream.
OMC President and CEO Tom Keller summed up the hospital’s “incredible
growth,” particularly in the past few years, adding $2.8 million
in community funds has been raised by the OMC Foundation for the expansion.

Ozarks Medical Center is a system of care encompassing eight primary care
and 16 specialty clinics, along with complete rehabilitation, behavioral
