OMC Mountain Grove Welcomes Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Kendra Rasmussen

WEST PLAINS, Mo - Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Mountain Grove recently added Nurse Practitioner Kendra Rasmussen to its Behavioral Healthcare services. Rasmussen is a board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMH-NP).

Rasmussen holds a Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Health from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Missouri State University, Springfield; and completed her Associate Degree in Nursing from Cox College, Springfield.

As a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, Ms. Rasmussen is an advanced-practice registered nurse that provides comprehensive mental health care to patients suffering from behavioral problems and mental health disorders. Not only do PMH-NPs provide diagnostic care and treatment, they also focus on psychiatric/mental health maintenance and wellness. They use both pharmaceutical and therapeutic interventions in treatment plans to help patients.

“I’m excited to be practicing in Mountain Grove and enjoy a small town clinic setting where I can be involved in the community,” said Rasmussen. “It’s a privilege to continue my career at OMC whose behavioral health clinics are dedicated to improving the quality of life for all the people in our region, through accessible healthcare.”

Previously Rasmussen worked at Lakeland Behavioral Health in Springfield. She also has worked as a school nurse at Green Valley State School in and as a Community Nurse at The Arc of the Ozarks, both in Springfield.

In her spare time, Ms. Rasmussen and her family enjoy the outdoors and camping. They also foster rescue dogs in their home. She is looking forward to relocating to the Mountain Grove area.
