OMC & Zizzer Track Hosting Every Kid Healthy Field Day April 27
Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) and West Plains High School Zizzer Track will
hold an Every Kid Healthy Field Day on Saturday, April 27 from 11:30 a.m.
until 3:00 p.m. at the West Plains High School track, 602 E. Olden in
West Plains. This event is a way for families to bring out their children
for an afternoon of fun, activities, and health education.
The Every Kid Healthy Field Day activities are free and open to children
ages Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Lunch will be available courtesy
of OMC. Children will register to receive a Field Day Card and backsack.
If a child participates in the four field day events and visits all the
educational and activity booths, they will receive a T-shirt, water bottle,
and jump rope.
Field Day events include: 1600 meter run, 75 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash,
50 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash, long jump, softball throw,
and sack race. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 8 in each heat. Events
will be divided by boys and girls and age group classifications. Age groups
are: Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade, 3rd and 4th Grade, 5th
and 6th Grade, and 7th and 8th Grade.
Booths are available for organizations and businesses who offer health,
wellness, or activities for children. Businesses that offer classes such
as dance, exercise, martial arts, etc. for children also are welcome.
