Every Two Seconds, Someone Needs Blood
OMC and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Blood Drive April 19
WEST PLAINS, Mo – Ozarks Medical Center’s (OMC) and the Community
Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will host a blood drive Friday, April
19, from noon until 6 p.m., at the Willard Hunter Classroom in the OMC
Blood donations are a little easier thanks to an automated donor questionnaire.
CBCO’s Donor QuickPass is a web-based computer-assisted program
that allows blood donors to answer required health history questions in
a private setting when it’s convenient for donors. To take advantage
of QuickPass, visit
www.cbco.org the day of your blood drive, and find the link that will start the process.
“We are encouraging everyone to give. The entire process will only
take about an hour. It is amazing that with just a short time out of your
day, you can help save a life,” said Josh Reeves, Executive Director
of Operations, OMC. “And with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks’
QuickPass program, it may even cut down on more time.”
Consider making a difference by donating blood at the next blood drive.
Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. About 44,000 pints of
blood are needed in the U.S. every day. Almost everyone will know someone
in their lifetime who has had the need for blood. Only 38% of the population
is eligible to donate, but only about 8% of those who are eligible actually donate.
