Ambulance Services

Ozarks Medical Center currently operates four area ambulance districts that contract for management and personnel with the medical center. These are tax-supported districts.

Oregon County Ambulance District
(Two locations to better serve citizens of the area)

•  Thayer, Mo.; business number 417/ 264-2145;

•  Non-emergency medical transport services also available for Oregon County. Call 417/ 257-2093
•  Licensed in both Missouri and Arkansas
•  Serves all of Oregon County in Missouri and Fulton County and parts of Sharp and Izard Counties in northern Arkansas
•  Service area is 740 square miles of mostly rural area with 10,000 residents
•  Advanced Life Support Care including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, thrombolitic screening for both cardiac and stroke patients, Rapid Sequence Intubation and mechanical ventilatory support
•  1,300 ambulance transports a year
•  Approximately 1,350 non-medical transport requests a year
•  Four ambulances and a non-emergency medical transport van
•  24-hour services
•  Staff consists of 13 Paramedics and 12 EMTs
•  Provides mutual aid backup to surrounding services in Missouri and Arkansas and has a well developed and trained group of First Responders who assist in rescue and extrication

Ozark County Ambulance District

Serves 1,200 square miles in Ozark County
5 full-time employees and 4 part-time employees
Averages 650 calls or runs per year
Two ambulances equipped for Advanced Life Support (ALS) use
Provides mutual aid backup to surrounding counties, if needed

The lakes, rivers and natural parks gives Ozark County Ambulance a unique challenge in responding, care and treatment of local citizens and tourists that enjoy the county.

Willow Springs Ambulance District

6 full-time employees and 4 part-time employees
Coverage area of Willow Springs School District -- part of Howell, Texas and Douglas counties
Averages 600 runs per year
Serving rural areas and town
One 24-hour, 7 days a week ambulance and one day ambulance for 10 hours, two days a week all with advanced life support
Works closely with Willow Springs and Pomona fire departments and neighboring ambulance districts
