March 26-28 - Colorectal Cancer Screening
Call for in home kit
Mailed kits available to qualifying participants.
Ozarks Medical Center will offer free, take-home colorectal cancer screening kits in recognition of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The take-home screening test offered by OMC is called a fecal occult blood test (FOBT). Once a candidate receives the kit they should follow the enclosed instructions then mail the completed kit to OMC for processing by the deadline on the instructions. Kits mail after the deadline will not be processed. To request a kit, call 417-257-6793 March 26-28.

March 30 - National Doctor’s Day
Ozarks Medical Center is recognizing the “best doctors in the world” during this year’s Doctor’s Day. Each year, Doctor’s Day is a time to honor physicians and the extraordinary care they provide. OMC will have several activities to show local physicians how much they are appreciated. The community is also encouraged to express their appreciation to their individual physicians. Open enrollment for the Missouri Health Insurance Marketplace ends March 31. To buy Marketplace insurance outside Open Enrollment, you must qualify for a special enrollment period due to a qualifying life event such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, or loss of a job. April 25 - OMC Fun Run Expo

Participants will have the opportunity to pick up their t-shirts and race information for the April 26 Fun Run at the Superhero Fun Run Expo. In addition to packet pickup, the expo will include door prizes and giveaways, superhero activities for the whole family, and booths from local businesses, including those related to health and wellness.

Everyone needs a hero but cancer patients need superheroes. The Annual Ozarks Medical Center Fun Run is pleased to present the Superhero 5K, 10K and 1.5 mile racing event. The races begin at the OMC Shaw Medical Building, home to the OMC Cancer Treatment Center. The funds from this event go to help patients who are in need and undergoing cancer treatment at OMC with costs such as medication and transportation to treatments. New this year is a superhero theme with individual and team spirit competition, a 10K course and electronic chip timing. Registration forms are available at OMC Public Relations, located at No. 23 Parkway Center, and online at www.ozarksmedicalcenter.com/funrun.asp. Online registration is also available at this link. Participants are encouraged to form teams of five or more and receive a $5 registration discount. In addition, an early registration discount is available through April 11.
