What is the OMC Foundation?

The Ozarks Medical Center Foundation supports Ozarks Medical Center health care system, ensuring a place close to home to meet all medical needs. OMC Foundation helps OMC to help you.

The not-for-profit organization was established in 1998 to further the work of the medical center. Governed by a local board of directors, the OMC Foundation seeks and accepts charitable contributions from individuals, businesses and corporations, and other foundations to assist OMC in providing excellent health care to the communities we serve.

80 golfers participate in annual OMC Foundation Golf Tournament

WEST PLAINS — The Ozarks Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament drew 20 teams with a total of 80 golfers at its recent annual event..

“We had a great time,” said Robin Morgan, director of the OMC Foundation. “I want to thank all of the tournament sponsors. It was especially exciting to see the great turnout of teams. No one won the hole-in-one or the putting contests, but there’s always next year.”

Three places were awarded West Plains Chamber of Commerce gift certificates in each of three flights, with Callaway gift certificates given as player gifts, said Morgan.

In the championship flight, first place went to the Great Rivers Distributing team of Greg Beykirch, Jay Garnett, Jeff McDaniels and Phil Wade.


Second place went to the Eleven Point Ranch team of Jasper Warren, Norman Hollis, Seth Huddleston and Mike Warren.

The team of David M. Gohn, Scott Schneider, Barry Slayton and Eric Judd won third place.

In the A Flight, the Ozark Advertising Network team of Jonathan Bergman, Tom Marhefka, Bob Eckman and David Russback won first place. The Burton Creek Medical Center team of Robert Martin, Richard Bowles, George Kramer and Gerry Strange won second, and the MedAssets & Hartford team of Tom Frenz, Brad Williams, Blake Welsh and Adam Frenz won third.

In the B Flight, the Invensys team of Kristi Johnson, Ron Cassidy, Tracy Johnson and James Denton won first place. Second place went to the Fujifilm Medical Systems team of Tim Dozier, Liz Palomino, Wade Davis and Jackie Dowell. Third place went to the OMC Cancer Treatment Center team of Steve Morgan, Charles Morgan, Bryant Marshal and Bryan Eck.

Primary tournament sponsors include Cardinal Health, HOME (Heart of the Ozarks Medical Equipment); Air Evac Lifeteam; RKL Construction Co.; Ozark Advertising Network; Great Rivers Distributing Co. Inc.; West Plains Bank; Gaskin, Hill and Norcross and AIG Valic (Butch Purvis).

The Foundation uses tournament proceeds to buy medical equipment and fund educational programs, said Morgan.

No one won the two hole-in-one prizes — a boat and trailer and a trip to Hawaii — offered by West Plains Marine and Ozarks Medical Center Rehabilitation Services.

OMC Foundation mission statement

The Ozarks Medical Center Foundation's mission is "to support Ozarks Medical Center in providing high quality, compassionate health care and promote wellness in the communities we serve." It is organized exclusively for charitable purposes under Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code to support and assist OMC. The purposes of the OMC Foundation include the development and use of money for:

•  new medical technology and equipment
•  community wellness, prevention and other out-of-hospital services to promote quality of life
•  renovation and new facilities

As we fulfill our mission of caring for the community, the caring shown to us in return in the form of philanthropic support is appreciated. The OMC Foundation employs the utmost care in administration and distribution of funds.

OMC Foundation Forums

OMC Foundation presents a monthly Foundation Forum, in which community members are invited to learn more about the hospital and its entities. The Forum is on the third Wednesday of each month at the Foundation Community Room, 403 Washington Ave.
