Orthopedic surgeon to join medical staff at OMC
Ozarks Medical Center welcomes David M. Denenny, MD, to the organization’s medical staff. Dr. Denenny is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with 30 years of experience in his specialty.
Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors and congenital conditions.
Denenny will treat surgery patients at the hospital and see patients at the OMC Orthopedic Clinic, located in the Highland Park Building at 181 Kentucky Ave, in West Plains.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Denenny to the OMC medical staff,” said OMC President and CEO David Zechman. “Dr. Denenny’s wealth of experience will be of tremendous benefit to this community.”
“I am married with children, and my wife and I were determined to leave California. We chose this area after visiting here,” said Dr. Denenny. “The people are friendly and helpful and we choose to live here and raise our children here.”
Denenny was chief of orthopedics and orthopedic trauma for many years and has also worked for many year in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Denenny received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He completed an internship in surgery and residency in general surgery with the University of California in Irvine, Calif. He went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery from this same university in 1979.
Since 1979, Denenny has been in private practice in Orange County, Calif. For two years, he was the Chief of Surgery at Chapman General Hospital in Orange, Calif. Since 1998, he has been Chief of Orthopedic Trauma at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, Calif. and has been Chief of Orthopedics at this same medical center since 2000.
Denenny has also been affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Orange County and with St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Calif., which was named as one of the top 50 hospitals in the U.S. for orthopedics.
“I have a special interest in arthroscopic surgery, especially the knees, and I also find it rewarding to work with challenging fractures and total joint replacement,” Dr. Denenny adds. “I welcome any type of orthopedic complaint at my practice.”
