Board certified family physician Ron Hiemstra, MD, will join the Mountain Grove Medical Complex, an affiliate of Ozarks Medical Center, beginning later this month.
Hiemstra comes to OMC with more than 25 years experience as a family practice physician, including several years experience practicing in rural health clinics.
“OMC is pleased to welcome Dr. Hiemstra to the Mountain Grove Medical Complex,” said OMC President and CEO David Zechman. “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge that will be a great benefit to the clinic and the community as a whole.”
As a family physician, Hiemstra is trained to provide medical care to people of all ages. This includes wellness checks, the diagnosis and treatment of illness, and preventative care.
“I am excited to be joining the OMC family,” Hiemstra said. “I am committed to providing compassionate, quality health care. I look forward to being a part of the community and getting to know the patients at the Mountain Grove clinic.”
Hiemstra comes to OMC from Cox Health Systems in Springfield. He had been practicing in Rogersville and Springfield for the past 10 years.
“I welcome all my patients from Rogersville and Springfield to see me at the Mountain Grove clinic,” he said.
Prior to his experience at Cox, Hiemstra was a family physician at clinics in Waterloo, Iowa; Cedar Falls, Iowa; Le Mars, Iowa; and Cherokee, Iowa. He also served as chief of the medical staff at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa and as vice president of the medical staff at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Hiemstra received his bachelor’s degree and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed a residency in family practice through the University of Iowa at the Siouxland Medical Education Foundation, Inc.
He has been board certified in family practice since 1983.
Hiemstra is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians.
The Mountain Grove Medical Complex is located at 1604 North Street in Mountain Grove and is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clinic offers family medicine, women’s health, behavioral health and rehabilitation services. For more information, call 417-926-6563.
