OMC Wound Care Services is the only health facility specializing in wound care treatment within a 100-mile radius of West Plains.

OMC Wound Care Services offers advanced wound healing treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds caused by poor circulation, diabetes, infection, toxins, burns or radiation injury. Any person with a wound that does not show adequate progress in healing over a four to six week period would be a candidate for the wound healing service.

Using a team approach, beginning with the physician, nurse and patient, an individualized treatment plan is developed to best meet the medical needs of each patient.

Because no single treatment course will work for every person, OMC Wound Care Services brings together information and technology from different medical specialties within the medical center to develop a customized treatment plan.

This plan may include physical or occupational therapy through OMC Rehabilitation Services, nutritional education through OMC Nutrition Services or home health through Riverways Home Care of OMC. Patients also are educated about wound care at home and wound prevention..
