Women with Heart committee donates new equipment to OMC Nutrition Services

The Women with Heart Committee recently donated funds for the purchase of new equipment for Ozarks Medical Center Nutrition Services. The new equipment included a Cooking Performance Group (CPG) Commercial Range and Avantco Commercial Fryer totaling $2,000. According to OMC Nutrition Services Manager Michael Kenny, the new items replace outdated equipment and will lead to better production, improving the patient and visitor experience at OMC. The funds were raised at a Here's to your Heart luncheon, which was held in February and attended by more than 80 people. The luncheon was hosted by Women with Heart, a giving circle of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. This was the fourth year for the luncheon, which has raised a total of $36,538 for OMC services. In addition to the kitchen equipment, this year's event also raised $10,000 for new equipment for the stroke rehabilitation program at OMC. The next committee event will be a Christmas concert and chocolate extravaganza hosted by Sally Vedal on Dec. 6. For more information, contact a Women with Heart Committee member.
