Greg Beykirch honored for 19 years of service on OMC Board of Directors
Outgoing Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Board of Directors Member Greg Beykirch
was honored for 19 years of service to the healthcare system at the OMC
Annual Meeting on April 14.
Beykirch, the President of Great Rivers Distributing in West Plains, joined
the OMC Board of Directors as a way to give back to the community. “I
felt it was a good organization. I had a lot of respect for those serving
on the board and wanted to see the hospital grow in providing greater
services in our region and keep up with the changes in healthcare.”
Beykirch says the one of the projects that he was very passionate about
was the need to grow and expand OMC’s Emergency Department (ED).
“This need was at a time when the hospital was financially strapped.
Since we didn’t have much cash, the board determined the best approach
was to have a capital campaign. Our community responded very positively
and we have a state-of-the-art ED with great doctors providing excellent
Beykirch served as Chair from 2006 to 2011 and Secretary from 2011 to 2013.
He also served on the Executive, Finance, Governance, Planning and Marketing,
Compensation and Benefits, Facilities Planning and Development, and Audit
committees during his tenure. In 2011, he received the Board Member of
the Year award from the Missouri Hospital Association.
“Greg’s service and commitment to health care has been remarkable.
His dedication to the growth of OMC has been a great benefit to our board
as well as the community,” said Marge Slayton, OMC Board of Directors Chair.
The OMC Board of Directors is a 15-person, volunteer committee made up
of physicians and dedicated community members. The primary responsibility
for assuring OMC achieves its mission rests with the OMC Board of Directors.
