OMC Mammoth Spring Offering Chronic Disease Self-Management Classes
Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Mammoth Spring Clinic will offer a Chronic
Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) beginning Friday, October 14 at
the Mammoth Spring Senior Citizens Activity Center located at 950 Archer
Avenue in Mammoth Spring. This six week program is free and open to adults
who have chronic health conditions like arthritis, diabetes, heart disease,
and lung disease. Adults with more than one chronic condition may find
the program especially helpful.
The program is conducted as a series of weekly 2 1/2-hour workshops for
6 weeks. Participants learn techniques for coping with the physical and
psychological effects of chronic disease, and strategies for reducing
symptoms and disability.
Among proven benefits, CDSMP participants report less pain, fatigue, and
depression; more energy; better communication with their physicians; better
overall health; and increased confidence that they can manage their chronic disease.
For more information or to enroll in the free classes, contact OMC Mammoth
Spring Medical Clinic at 870-625-3228.
