OMC Superhero Dog Show is April 23
First 100 entrants receive a superhero dog bandana
Everyone needs a hero but cancer patients need superheroes. The 26th Annual Ozarks Medical Center Fun Run will feature a new event this year
~ A Dog Show!
The first 100 dogs entered will receive a free superhero dog bandana. The
bandanas were made and donated by Barbara Martin of West Plains. Barbara’s
daughter, Susan Kenslow, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at OMC Cancer
Treatment Center. “I just wanted to do something to make the event
special,” said Martin.
You may enter your dog in the Dog Show and/or Costume Contest by registering
your dog at the Fun Run Expo on Friday, April 22 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
at the Willard Hunter Classroom in the OMC Parkway Center, or day of the
event, Saturday, April 23, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in front of the OMC
Shaw Building on Kentucky Ave. All dogs must be entered registered for
the Dog Show & Costume Contest by 9:30 a.m. Cost is $5 per dog. The
show begins at 10:00 a.m. All dogs must be on a leash and have current
rabies vaccination per city ordinance.
Awards will be given for the Dog Show include: Best Small Dog, Best Medium
Dog, Best Large Dog, Best Costume Small Dog, Best Costume Medium Dog,
Best Costume Large Dog, and Best of Show. Awards will be given following the show.
Other events include a 1.5 mile walk/run, a 5K and a 10K. Dogs can compete
with their owners in the walking and running events for $5. To sign up
