March 13-19 Is Brain Awareness Week
In observance of Brain Awareness Week, Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) is reminding
everyone the importance of acting quickly when there are signs of stroke.
OMC is a designated Level 2 Stroke Center with a comprehensive stroke
team that goes into action with the 911 call. Signs of stroke are easy
to remember using the acronym FAST. (Face, Arm, Speech, Time). Face drooping,
Arm weakness, Speech Difficulty, Time to call 911.
The Dana Foundation is a private philanthropic organization that supports
brain research through grants, publications, and educational programs.
Brain Awareness Week (BAW), held every March, is a global campaign to
increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.
