2nd Annual OMC Dice Run of the Mills Scheduled for June 9

You don’t have to ride to run!

Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) will hold its Second Annual OMC Dice Run of the Mills on Saturday, June 9 to raise money for new infant cribs and bassinettes for the OMC newborn nursery. And you don’t have to ride a motorcycle to participate.

Last year, 145 motorcycles and 17 vehicles participated in the event. “We are hoping for those numbers to grow this year with the addition of two off-road routes that adventure bikes and 4-wheel drive vehicles can take advantage of,” said Melissa Smith, Chair of the Event. “And of course, it is open to vehicles of all types. Last year, we saw friends and families loaded up in the car, truck, or jeep, having a great time driving through our beautiful Ozarks for a good cause.”

The Dice Run is open to motorcycles and vehicles of all types. Cost to enter is $20 per vehicle and includes a Dice Run Swag Bag. Riders can begin the route any time after registration, which will be from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at OMC Parkway Center, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains. To participate in the dice game, dice scoring cards can be purchased for $5 each, with no limit on how many cards one can play. T-Shirts will be available for purchase at both registration and the Lot Party.

New this year will be the addition of alternative routes for adventure bikes and 4-wheel drive vehicles. Two routes will be available. The Caney Mountain route is all gravel roads with minimum difficulty. The Bryant Creek route is for more experienced riders.

The public is invited to attend the Lot Party at Great Rivers Distributing, located on Highway 63 in Pomona, even if they are not participating in the Dice Run. The Lot Party will open at 3:00 p.m. with food trucks, a cash bar, silent auction, and vendor booths. A rock band, Fender Bender, will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will play throughout the afternoon. Dice Run awards will be announced at 4:30 p.m., and the 50/50 drawing winner and silent auction winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m.

“What better way to raise money for a wonderful cause than to have a little fun while doing it,” said Smith. “The Dice Run is a 125-mile ride that will have stops at Cloud 9 Ranch, The Antler, Rockbridge, Hodgson Mill, and Twin Bridges, and then end at a Lot Party at Great Rivers Distributing. It’s a way to showcase the beauty of the Ozarks and invite riders to join local riders in experiencing all the Ozarks has to offer,” she said.

For those unfamiliar with the rules of a dice run, five dice will be rolled at each of the six Dice Roll Stops. The player’s score will be recorded on their dice scoring card. A prize will be awarded to the winner of each stop for highest roll (at Cloud 9 Ranch, Rockbridge, and Twin Bridges) and lowest roll (at The Antler, Hodgson Mill, and Great Rivers Distributing).

The grand prize of $100 will be awarded to the participant who has the highest overall dice roll score after all six rolls. Consolation prizes will be awarded for lowest overall score, oldest motorcycle driver or passenger, and for the person who traveled the farthest to compete.
