98 Motorcycles Participated in the 2nd Annual OMC Dice Run of the Mills

Event raised over $6,000 for newborn cribs and bassinettes for the OMC Newborn Nursery

Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) held its Second Annual OMC Dice Run of the Mills on June 9 with a total of 98 motorcycles and 22 cars participating. The fundraiser raised over $6,000 which will be used to purchase cribs and bassinettes for the OMC Newborn Nursery.

The event was sponsored by Great Rivers Distributing, West Plains Daily Quill, Mega Motorsports, Outpost Motorsports, Ozark Electrical Solutions, Landmark Bank, Q94, Bartlett Moving Services, Hughes Towing, and KHOM The Train.

The event kicked off at OMC Parkway Center in West Plains and included Dice Roll Stops at Cloud 9 Ranch in Caulfield, The Antler Package and Pizza in Gainesville, Rockbridge Rainbow Trout and Game Ranch in Rockbridge, Hodgson Mill in Sycamore, Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground at Twin Bridges, and concluded at a Lot Party held at Great Rivers Distributing in Pomona.

The Lot Party featured rock band Fender Bender and food trucks Hangry’s, Annie’s Hot Dog Cart, and Hillbilly Kettle Corn. Booth vendors were Mega Motorsports, Outpost Motorsports, Morlan-Shell Ford, and OMC Home Care.

Five dice were rolled at six stops during the event. The highest total dice roll score award went to Itsy Burnett of West Plains with a score of 129. Itsy won a Dice Run trophy and $100. The person who had the lowest total dice roll score award went to Dr. Kevin Crowe of West Plains with a roll of 84 He received a Dice Run trophy and $25.

Chip Zike of Cedar Falls, Iowa won the award for the farthest traveled to participate. He traveled 477 miles and received a Dice Run trophy and $25. The oldest motorcycle rider went to Robert Kuzniar, age 86, of Thayer He received a Dice Run trophy and $25.

Prizes for winners at the Dice Roll Stops were donated by Savor Grill, Greater West Plains Chamber of Commerce, The Antler Package and Pizza, Rockbridge Rainbow Trout and Game Ranch, and Twin Bridges Canoe and Campground.

Winners at the roll stops were Carla Falwell at Cloud 9 with the highest roll of 27. She won a $50 Chamber Bucks Gift Certificate. Dennis Hicks was the lowest roll at The Antler with a 6. He won a gift certificate for a hamburger, pizza, and fried pies from The Antler. Christopher Foster was the highest roll at Rockbridge with a roll of 30. He won a $25 Gift Certificate to Rockbridge. Kelly Johnson was the lowest roll at Hodgson Mill with a roll of 5. She won a $50 Gift Certificate from Savor Grill. Cindy Hendrix was the winner of the highest roll at Twin Bridges with a 27. She won a $25 Gift Certificate from Twin Bridges Bar and Grill. James Cummins was the winner of the lowest roll at Great Rivers with a roll of 9. He won a $50 Gift Certificate from Savor Grill.

“We were blessed with a beautiful day for riding our Ozarks last Saturday and were thrilled with the number of people who came out to support this event,” said Melissa Smith, Co-Chair of the event. “We are already looking forward to the Third Annual OMC Dice Run on June 8, 2019.”
